EBEC BALKAN 2019 – DESIGN THE FUTURE. TODAY.

Local group of Board of European Students of Technology – BEST Novi Sad is this year’s host of Regional Round of Engineering Competition EBEC Balkan which started on 9 May and will last until 13 May. Apart from the winner of the local round of Novi Sad, this competition has gathered the best engineers from 6 more cities of the region.

“EBEC Balkan is organised by local BEST groups from BELGRADE, MOSTAR, NIŠ, NOVI SAD, PODGORICA, SKOPJE and Sofia. 56 best engineers in total, winners of the local rounds from the stated cities will compete in two categories: Case Study and Team Design”, people from BEST Novi Sad explain.

“One of the reasons why Novi Sad is European Youth Capital is that we have active and creative youth organisations, such as BEST, which has shown by its example that when you work hard, you can get the organisation of large events such as this regional competition”, Vukašin Grozdanović, OPENS Coordinator said.

European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) is the largest engineering real-time competition organised by Board of European Students of Technology, which gathers the best European students of engineering. The event is from students for students. The purpose of the EBEC project is to develop the skills of participations, not only in the field of theory, but for them to gain the practical knowledge which will help them deal with the problems with which the society faces every day. The teams which consist of 4 participants in the field of technology, regardless of their degree of education, and the challenge is to solve the tasks in three different levels of competition.

The local BEST groups exist at 97 universities in 34 countries of Europe and count more than 3500 members!
