FINALE OF THE GRAND FINALE

The final day of OPENS Distrikt was spectacularly finished last night at the Vujadin Boškov plateau in front of SPENS, before eight thousand people. During the two days of the festival, the citizens of Novi Sad had the chance to see the world-famous names from the action sport scene in four categories: skate, BMX, rollers and scooter.

Apart from that, this festival is also the international competition in extreme sports in Skate, Inline, BMX and romobile disciplines in amateur and professional categories.

Apart from the competition and program itself, during those two days, young people had the chance to stand on the ramp with the world champions, in the Novi Sad presents category, which makes the entire festival unique and meets the goals of European Youth Capital Novi Sad. From the beginning of its work, OPENS strives to provide young people who want to try that out a chance and to encourage them to develop, the organizers explain.

“This is the first time that something like this is organized not only in Novi Sad but in entire Serbia and this part of Europe. We had the honour to establish cooperation with FISE association and to welcome fifteen extraordinary sportsmen in four disciplines for two days. There were a lot of young citizens of Novi Sad who came tonight in the Novi Sad presents part and there were more than fifteen citizens of Novi Sad who were at the large ramp and tried to understand some of the tricks before professional riders come to the scene”, Valentina Antić, OPENS2019 International Cooperation Coordinator explains.

OPENS Distrikt is the international festival of street culture which started on Monday (5 September) by the Youth Camp, which welcomed more than 20 young people who had the chance to learn the basis of painting graffiti and DJ-ing. Apart from workshops, Distrikt had different activities within its content, like painting murals at several locations in Novi Sad and the organization of the party in the Blok, where the official finale was not missed.
