LAST STOP – SEA DANCE!

We just packed the impressions from EXIT, and before we say goodbye to the summer, it is time to pack OPENS colours, badges and energy once again and to hit the road towards the last EXIT summer stop – Sea Dance Festival in Buljarice.

“The OPENS Team counts five people whose task will be to introduce the title and the significance of the youth capital to the visitors of Sea Dance, but also to invite them to visit Novi Sad next year and to meet the program which has already being prepared for young people for next year” Valentina Antić, OPENS International Cooperation Coordinator says and adds: “OPENS has its Zone and several activations at Sea Dance Festival and, apart from having the opportunity to see short films of young artists from the region, by visiting our Zone you can travel time and make your sticker postcard which will be sent to the given address, you will have the opportunity to take photos and videos and
to send video messages to young people in the region, and also to find out what you can expect in Novi Sad next year.”

And none of that is by accident. Next year, our city will be the go to place for all young people from the region. We expect more than half a million people from whole Europe who will be included in the OPENS programs, along with the young people from Novi Sad. Therefore, the festivals of the EXIT family are important stops on that road.

“The partnership with EXIT and the presence at the festivals in the region is extremely important for OPENS, since that the mission of the EXIT festivals in the region is connection. Next year, Novi Sad will be the centre of events for young people in Europe, and we want to invite our friends in the region to be included in the programs, to discuss topics significant for young people, to talk about real values, about what connects us, about peace, love, freedom, we want to meet each other, to hang out and to see that we are actually much more similar than different, but that we respect difference at the same time. I believe that young people should have the key role in the creation of stability, peace, dialogue, tolerance and good neighbouring relations, and festivals in the region can be a great starting point for that” Valentina concludes. European Youth Capital is not by accident intertwined with the best European festival. Namely, one of the reasons Novi Sad has become the European Youth Capital is the great support from the region, as well as the plans and programs which connect young people in the whole region. Some of those programs are partnership with Exit, first at Jahorina, in Umag and Novi Sad, and now in Buljarice.

Young people should have the key role in the creation of stability, peace, dialogue, tolerance and good neighbouring relations. Such belief is deeply incorporated in the pillar of OPENS, it is actually the fourth pillar at which we stand – Different young people in different societies. And festivals can be a great starting point of that. Therefore, this is how we began our year – by festivals. And the same team will say goodbye to summer by the same OPENS colours in Montenegro, at Sea Dance.

We are on the road and we bring the messages and colours of Novi Sad with us.
