The European Youth Capital for 2021, the City of Klaipeda and the European Youth Forum will organize a webinar called ”European Youth Capitals in the time of COVID-19‘’ on Thursday, June 18, starting at 2 pm (CEST). OPENS, as the holder of the title for 2019, will also participate in an interactive online event, where Vojislav Prkosovački, as the coordinator of the Novi Sad Volunteer Service, will have the opportunity to talk about the volunteer actions in our city during the pandemic. With the emphasis that through participation in volunteer programs we can contribute to the better functioning of our community, as well as to our personal growth and development.
In addition to Novi Sad, the webinar will be attended by four other European Youth Capitals: Thessaloniki, Amiens, Klaipeda and Tirana, where they will share examples of successful practice regarding the challenges and opportunities facing local communities in supporting young people, both in the short term and long-term plan. City officials, as well as youth representatives, will present a model according to which the title of European Youth Capital helps mutual cooperation in certain crises, according to which young people, with the stated support, try out in new unpredictable engagements.
Throughout the webinar, you will find out which initiatives are planned at the local level to support young people in the difficult times ahead, and how their involvement is essential to the benefit of the whole community.
You can follow the entire Streaming event via LINK, which will be available on the Facebook page of the European Youth Forum.
