FROM PÉCS TO NOVI SAD

Within the OPENS program, there is the part that deals with culture, but also the part of the European Youth Capital that gathers and includes young people. Many of these activities overlap and connect to one another. That is where the two capitals continuously cooperate. After mutual establishment of Novi Sad Volunteer Service and other, capitals in the activities which have been overlapped, they have had clearly defined cooperation and on daily basis, we see how to be more successful in the execution through mutual preparation.

On Friday, 7 September, OPENS had the chance to host Mr Károly Méhes, Hungarian writer and culture worker, one of the holders of the activities during the realization of Pécs European Culture Capital 2010.

The cooperation between the two sister cities, Pécs and Novi Sad can be established in different fields which OPENS has opened, starting from the widest exchange of experiences and in practice, in the development of elements of the youth policy, through projects of mutual cooperation on the development of the participation of young people from minority groups, to the exchange of young people of the two cities.

Mr Méhes was specifically presented Novi Sad Volunteer Service, the program which is mutually implemented by European Culture Capital Novi Sad 2021 and OPENS, its previous results and the planned direction of its development.
