THE COLOUR FESTIVAL THROUGH THE EYES OF THE VOLUNTEERS

When the sand of the most beautiful city beach becomes blue, when the Danube becomes pink and the grass becomes orange, the only thing necessary in such an image is many young colourful people who were the symbol of great time and new energy on the 12 th day of August, the International Youth Day.

Young people, but also children, grandmothers, sisters at the shoulders of their older brothers, a group of tourists who have heard about the OPENS Colour Festival for the first time, along with the “natives” of Štrand who were accidently covered with the colourful dust, all of us had only one goal – to do something extraordinary, to have fun and colour the city!

The colourful dust was flying above us while the lights from the stage crossed the colours in the moments when all of us raised our hands to empty the bags towards each other. The colours spread, we forgot where we were for a moment, letting the moment of happiness and euphoria take us away.

After that moment, we packed the sand, warrior colours, smiles and colourful T-shirts in our backpacks for memory and brought them with ourselves. To share them and tell about them, until next year.

I am sure that a stray particle of colour from Štrand which symbolized happiness, freedom and creativity reached the rest of Novi Sad.
