BEFORE THE CONFERENCE ABOUT YOUNG PEOPLE…

Before the International Conference about Young People which will be held on 28 November, Brankica Janković, The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality and Vukašin Grozdanović, OPENS2019 Coordinator have signed the Agreement on Cooperation. The conference is a part of mutual activities directed to the improvement of the position of young people.

“We must constantly keep the door of institutions open for the implementation of ideas of young people, and it up to them to use the chances given”, Janković said. She also added that better policies for young people and management of migrations were necessary, which would influence the creation of the conditions for young people to stay in Serbia.

She also said that it was of great importance that Novi Sad had managed to fight for European Youth Capital, and that that initiated the connections between young people, but also generations. She added that The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality was fully supportive of the idea and activities of the OPENS association.

Vukašin Grozdanović, OPENS Coordinator said that it was necessary to find the comprehensive and institutional solution for the creation of sustainable youth policy in Serbia, with special institutions for young people.

The Commissioner also supported the project-campaign “I Am What I Am” initiated by OPENS 2019 in cooperation with OPENS 2019 in cooperation with UNICEF. The idea is to talk about women’s rights during the entire year, since that 110 years of the first celebration of Women’s Day is marked, as well as that girls and women be more intensively empowered in fight for equality.
