DOMINATION OF SCHOOLS OF MEDICINE

Pupils’ company “BioAlly” from School of Medicine in Kruševac won the first place at the National competition of the best pupils’ companies held at the European Youth Capital, Novi Sad this year.

Within their company, these pupils deal with the production of organic powder with whey whose dissolving brings the drink against hangover. The award was handed to these pupils by the assistant of the Ministry of Economy, Katarina Obradović Jovanović, and in July, they will present Serbia at the European competition of pupils’ companies which will be held in Lille, France.

“Our drink heals hangover, relieves headaches and conditions of nausea, and refreshes the body, all thanks to the main ingredient – whey. Leading our company though the school year, we have learned a lot about the business, but we also had a lot of fun because we primarily like what we do. We are delighted and surprised with the win which we did not expect”, Đurđina Zdravković, the pupil and PR manager of the pupils’ company BioAlly says.

The company “BioCare” won the second place, with specific products made of the combination of dandelion and carrots, while the pupils from the company “Dolce Rosa” won the third place.

“From the beginning, OPENS is supporting Junior Achievements every step of the way. It is not by accident that this year the final competition is in Novi Sad, the city which is European Youth Company and at this point, it is probably the best place for the inspiration and empowerment of young people to launch something of their own and to join”, Vukašin Grozdanović, OPENS Coordinator says.

The twenty best teams from high-schools from all over Serbia presented the products and services of their companies within the sales fair at the Promenada Shopping Centre on Monday, while on Tuesday, they presented their business plans to jury and audience. The pupils who are “employed” in these companies during the year are gaining knowledge about market economy and entrepreneurship through the “Junior Achievements” programs and they lead their company from the foundation to the creation of the company statement and closing of the company. The top 20 companies are from Arilje, Bač, Belgrade, Boljevac, Kragujevac, Kruševac, Lazarevac, Leskovac, Mladenovac, Niš, Novi Sad, Požega, Sremska Mitrovica, Svilajnac, Šabac and Vršac.

The Pupils’ Company program is a part of the project of the Government of the Republic of Serbia “Decade of Entrepreneurship” implemented by the Ministry of Economy, and the European Commission flagged it the best model of entrepreneurship education for pupils of high-schools.
