#OPENSCAMPER IS PAINTED!

The three-day event of painting the OPENS camper ended at the Štrand beach of Novi Sad, below the Liberty Bridge. Last weekend, at different locations in the city, the young graffiti artists of Novi Sad who won the OPENS’ competition painted the sides of the OPENS camper which will be the backbone of numerous activities and programmes of Novi Sad European Youth Capital 2019 next year.

“We invite young people to join our activities. And not only that, but we invite them to be the initiators of events, programmes, projects and similar activities they want in their city. Therefore, we have initiated the competition, with the desire to provide the young graffiti artists in Novi Sad to leave their trace on the camper which will go around the region and the country the next year, within our programmes, but also to share the whole act with the citizens of Novi Sad. Therefore, we are glad that the whole city really joined the action and of course, the gathering during the whole weekend” Ivana Miloradov, OPENS PR says.

Last month, at OPENS website, there was the competition in which young graffiti artists of Novi Sad competed. Among the graffiti artists with the most votes of the audience, the jury chose the top three. Filip Stefanović, Aleksa Jovanović i Jovan Lučić won the competition.

“I wanted to choose the opportunity to show what I can do. The title of the European Youth Capital is a large spotlight on all young people in Novi Sad and it is great that we can use it within our fields of interest. I colour this city in this manner and I am very glad that now I have the opportunity to be a part of something larger, more permanent and something that is for my city” twenty-three-year-old Filip Stefanović, one of the graffiti artists says.

“It is very important for me that I have got this chance from OPENS organisation, with which I have large promotion and further cooperation. This was a great weekend. The last two days I was there while the other two guys were painting, to support them, and it is great that they were here for me today” Jovan Lučić, the last graffiti artist says.

Our camper will be the Youth Club on the Move next year, and it will start with the activities of OPENS Youth Club in the campus of the University of Novi Sad. In the next seven days, every day from 10 a.m. OPENS volunteers will be in the campus with different games and information about the OPENS programmes, with the activities free of charge for all students.
