The “United Nations Youth Delegate Programme” is one of the official channels for the participation of young people in the United Nations and it has been established in more than 30 countries around the world. In particular, that means what when it comes to the United Nations, young people do have a voice. United Nations Association of Serbia has RECENTLY chosen new youth delegates of Serbia in the United Nations for the 2018/2019 mandate. Last month, Tijana Čupić and Nikola Petrović, Youth Delegates of Serbia in the United Nations spent some time meeting OPENS and our activities, and they presented us last week, in New York!

“Tijana and Nikola participated in the work of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, where they talked on behalf of Serbia and used the opportunity during their SPEECH to invite all young people to visit Novi Sad, European Youth Capital 2019. During their stay, the cocktail for Youth Delegates from other countries was organised, where OPENS was presented. The guests of the cocktail were welcomed by Marina Ivanović, Minister Counsellor Charge D’Affaires i.e. of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the United Nations”, Milorad Kondić from United Nations Association of Serbia (UNA SERBIA) said.

Apart from the speech at the meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations, a side event was organised, whose purpose was the promotion of OPENS. The following opportunity is in January, when wider OPENS delegation will have the opportunity to present their activities during ECOSOC Youth Forum.
